Overview
Arm’s Central Engineering Machine Learning Group looks for highly motivated and creative Software Engineers to join a cross‑site, multicultural team. This role offers the chance to move into machine learning, a key development for the future of computing, by working on open‑source projects that help developers integrate and deploy machine‑learning workloads through Vulkan. It places you at the intersection of machine learning, graphics and compute APIs, compilers, runtime libraries, developer tooling, and next‑generation GPU/NPU hardware.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer you will design and implement a Software Development Kit (SDK) that meets the needs of various users. The SDK will support ML‑compiling technologies and high‑performance ML runtime libraries targeting next‑generation GPU hardware. You will also develop, debug, and maintain production‑quality software, and participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including code review, continuous integration, testing, and agile practices. You will work across different development platforms such as Linux, Android, emulators, and software models, applying new technologies quickly to solve engineering problems.
Qualifications
- Strong software engineering skills with extensive modern C++ experience and solid scripting skills, preferably Python.
- Experience designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining production‑quality software.
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, code review, CI, testing, and agile development practices.
- Ability to work across different development platforms (Linux, Android, emulators, software models).
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with open‑source software development of large projects with complex dependencies, public code reviews, documentation, release notes, issue tracking, and community engagement.
- Familiarity with Vulkan or other low‑level graphics and compute APIs (OpenCL, CUDA, DirectX, Metal).
- Experience with machine‑learning frameworks, inference runtimes, model formats, or model conversion tooling.
- Knowledge of CMake, cross‑compilation, packaging, dependency management, or developer tooling.
- Experience in performance analysis, profiling, optimization, or benchmarking.
- Knowledge of Android, embedded Linux, mobile platforms, software models, and emulators.
Benefits
- No relocation package is available; if sponsorship is required, Arm will cover employer‑side costs. Candidate is responsible for visa application fees and immigration health surcharge.
Salary
Salary Range: £73,500 – £99,500 per year
