Patient Experience and Nutritional Supervisor (Grade B)

Our Patient Catering Team is currently going through a period of transformation, and to support this, we are now recruiting for an additional colleague to join our Supervisory team on a permanent basis.
Our Catering Team are passionate about our patients experience, and developing our service to meet the needs of our patients, colleagues and service users, but also that we work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, building upon the trusts foundations and right care values.
You will play an active part in enhancing our Patients and Colleagues Experience, to ensure service delivery and data / information is managed effectively, and that the service is maintained to our service level agreements.
The role will also include supporting the onboarding of new colleagues, including local induction, training, and delivery of recurrent training of catering colleagues, meal time assurance checks, first line management of a team of catering colleagues which includes patient dining colleagues and our ward based hostess and housekeeper colleagues.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure the Company’s statutory regulations regarding hygiene, food safety, health and safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and ancillary areas are complied with in all tasks undertaken by staff and by visitors.
- Ensure high personal standards of performance, hygiene and appearance.
- Exchange information with catering staff in relation to rotas, catering service and training matters, including ensuring staff know the menu, portion size, presentation, correct uniform and friendly and courteous manner to customers.
- Manage a team of catering colleagues, including patient dining colleagues, ward based hostesses and housekeepers.
- Support the onboarding of new colleagues, including induction, training and recurrent training.
- Ensure meal time assurance checks are performed.
Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English
- Level 2 Food Safety
- IOSH Managing Safely Level 3
- Train the Trainer
Skills
- Computer literate in Excel and Word
- Ability to plan & organise own workload to a high standard as well as work as part of a team
- High attention to detail
- Able to use own initiative
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety practices
- An understanding of Confidentiality
- Knowledge of allergens and allergen management
- Knowledge of catering and hospitality best practice
- Understanding of Information Governance
- Knowledge of HACCP
- Knowledge of NHS PLACE
- Understanding of NHS Framework of Audit
Experience
- Experience of working in a catering environment
- Experience in dealing with customers and handling complaints
- Experience of working with allergens and best practice
- Experience of working with the public / customers
- Experience of working to schedules, procedures and deadlines
- Previous Supervisory Experience
