Hemiko is recruiting for an Asset Manager reporting to the Assets and Utilities Director.
The Role
The role of the Asset Manager involves a key role in the development, construction, optimisation, and growth of heat network assets. The Asset Manager will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders and customers to negotiate customer connections, oversee and drive asset performance, ensure safety, budget and time targets are met, and deliver customer service levels. They will produce and communicate regular performance and KPI reports and explore opportunities to add value.
Key Responsibilities
- Become the principal senior point of contact for stakeholders and contracted customers associated with the asset.
- Collaborate with the Development and Connection Teams to identify growth opportunities and develop expansion strategies for the district heating network.
- Ensure delivery and compliance with relevant contracts, administering contracts with authorities and heat network customers efficiently.
- Ensure regulatory and industry standards are met for the specific assets.
- Monitor, analyse and report on asset performance, evaluating risks and growth potential.
- Identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance asset performance.
- Track key metrics and indicators to assess effectiveness of asset management strategies.
- Manage financial models and documents to evaluate asset actual and forecast performance against the investment case.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and strategic recommendations.
- Oversee the development and drive implementation of a targeted value creation plan for each asset.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Experience in contract negotiation and administration, commercial and financial assessment, and technical considerations for energy infrastructure assets.
- Proficiency in financial and management accounting, reporting, cost control, budgeting, analysis, and financial modelling.
- Strong understanding of contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to energy infrastructure assets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and optimise asset performance.
- In‑depth understanding of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and technical aspects of district heating operations.
- Preferred membership of relevant professional institutions (e.g., IAM).
- Solid background in district heating systems or related energy infrastructure projects.
