Location: London (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in the office)

Contract: 12 month FTC

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Operations Manager to join a fast-growing, international technology business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will act as their deputy, leading the day-to-day finance operations function while providing technical expertise, developing the finance team, and driving process improvement across a global business.

This is a broad, hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing operational delivery with strategic improvement. You’ll play a key role in ensuring business‑as‑usual finance activities run seamlessly while supporting ongoing transformation initiatives across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month‑end and year‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and technical accounting papers under IFRS.
  • Manage and develop a team of Financial Accountants, providing coaching, mentoring and performance support.
  • Oversee the quality and integrity of financial controls across multiple international entities.
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors and support statutory reporting requirements.
  • Drive finance process improvements, automation initiatives and the adoption of AI‑enabled efficiencies.
  • Support international finance operations, ensuring consistent reporting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing technical guidance and helping solve complex financial challenges.
  • Remain hands‑on with technical accounting work rather than operating purely in a review capacity.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, ideally with an audit background.
  • 5‑6+ years post‑qualified experience within industry.
  • Experienced managing finance teams and developing individuals through coaching and mentoring.
  • Technically strong with solid IFRS knowledge and experience producing technical accounting papers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment with multiple priorities.
  • Hands‑on and willing to get involved in the detail rather than solely reviewing others’ work.
  • Experienced driving finance process improvement, automation or AI‑enabled initiatives.
  • Confident communicating with senior stakeholders and responding to technical or commercial challenges.
  • Ideally from a SaaS or high‑growth technology environment.

What’s Important

Success in this role will come from someone who can quickly take ownership of the finance operations function with minimal supervision, provide stability during a period of business transformation, and lead by example. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with excellent people management skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to thrive in a broad, evolving role.
