CWP is recruiting Band 5 nurses for our 15‑bed Specialist Dementia inpatient service based in Macclesfield, Cheshire. The ward offers a 24‑hour service and provides excellent career opportunities for registered mental health nurses, including newly qualified staff who will receive a comprehensive preceptorship programme. The role is based on competence and the Trust’s values and is ideal for those who are caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic about supporting people with dementia.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality nursing care to adults with dementia and related conditions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of mental health legislation and best practices.
- Take temporary charge of the service when required.
- Work independently and unsupervised as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Use information technology effectively to support clinical practice.
Qualifications
- Registered mental health nurse and 1st level mental health training completed.
- Experience working with adults with learning disability and dementia.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well‑developed research‑based knowledge and practical nursing skills.
- Basic management principles understood and applied.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Positive approach towards use of information technology.
Working Hours
- 24‑hour service with a rotational shift pattern that includes 12‑hour shifts during days, nights and weekends.
