Staff Nurse (BAND 5) – Centre for Urgent Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced staff nurse for the Centre for Urgent Care (CUC) based at the Sutton site. The CUC provides advanced nursing care to patients of the Royal Marsden Hospital who present with acute symptoms related to their disease or treatment. It supports patients on an ambulatory care pathway and provides care for elective patients booked for day case procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way, in conjunction with the shift coordinator.
• Develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit.
• Develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
