Radiographer Advanced Reporting Practitioner
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified, experienced radiographer to gain the qualifications required to become a trust‑wide advanced reporting practitioner. The role is based at Pinderfields and will work across all three hospital sites (Dewsbury, Pinderfields and Pontefract) and the new Community Diagnostic Centre in Wakefield. The successful applicant will contribute to a 12‑hour, 7‑day reporting service and will be expected to enrol in an image‑interpretation course at Bradford University to obtain a postgraduate certificate in musculoskeletal reporting, with the expectation of extending to chest and abdominal reporting.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a patient‑oriented service with a 70% reporting and 30% advanced‑practice workload across all trust sites.
- Lead the radiology team in maintaining an efficient imaging service and ensuring high‑quality image acquisition.
- Undertake postgraduate academic and clinical education in image interpretation.
- Perform a comprehensive range of radiographic procedures without supervision, both within the department and externally (e.g., theatre, wards).
- Support and develop staff through reflective evaluation of practice and service improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance clinical expertise, ensuring all imaging procedures comply with mandatory protocols and are adapted to the patient’s condition and level of cooperation.
Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Radiography or DCR(R) HPC Registration.
- Postgraduate experience in diagnostic radiography.
- Evidence of comprehensive radiographic experience across a range of modalities.
- Experience managing complex clinical situations and complex referrals.
- Experience in clinical audit and workload/resource management.
- Experience participating in out‑of‑hours radiography service.
- Enrollment in the image‑interpretation course at Bradford University to obtain a postgraduate certificate in MSK reporting, with the expectation of extending training to chest and abdominal reporting.
