Role Overview

As a Clinical Counselling Psychologist within Bupa Health Services, you will support customers by providing education and therapeutic care to promote longer, healthier, happier lives. You will spend the majority of your time with clients through face‑to‑face, telephone or video consultations, delivering evidence‑based assessments, signposting and referrals, coaching and group psycho‑education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality therapeutic care with excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations for evidence‑based intervention.
  • Offer different models of service delivery: face‑to‑face, telephone, or video consultations.
  • Adhere to Bupa’s case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the therapy team.
  • Work within sessional limits based on the client’s Private Medical Insurance allowance.
  • Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.
  • Offer ad‑hoc well‑being support and coaching.
  • Conduct one‑off assessments and referral recommendations.
  • Provide group psycho‑education and mental‑health awareness through remote presentations, workshops and training.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa’s service policies.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision and monthly team meetings.
  • Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to improve client and employee experiences.

Qualifications

  • Professional doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
  • General adult mental health experience.
  • At least one year of post‑qualification clinical experience.
  • Desirable: training and accreditation in specialised areas of psychological relevance; corporate experience; excellent leadership and management skills.

Required Experience & Skills

  • General adult mental health specialism experience and corporate business understanding.
  • Up‑to‑date CPD.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Systems and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to evaluate, plan and prioritise workload within demanding time scales.
  • Proven customer service and client liaison experience.
  • Excellent application of clinical knowledge.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing own caseload and working towards individual targets and outcomes.
  • High standards in written and oral communication.
  • Diverse and varied clinical experience.
