Apply for the Intermediate Electrical Engineer
Location: Liverpool
Job Description:

Consolux | Liverpool or Manchester | 4-Day Week

Salary – Negotiable depending on experience.

Consolux is an MEP consultancy with 20+ staff and offices in Liverpool and Manchester. We work across high‑rise residential, commercial offices, and refurbishment schemes — including several active projects in the Manchester area — with in‑house sustainability and CAD/Revit teams alongside our engineering disciplines. We’re looking for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer who can take ownership of design packages and wants to grow into a senior role.

What the role involves

  • Full electrical design including lighting, power, containment, fire detection, and small power systems
  • Electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and voltage drop using Amtech or equivalent
  • Producing detailed specifications, schedules, and design reports
  • Working on high‑rise and residential schemes with an understanding of BSR requirements and the gateway process
  • Coordinating across disciplines and with our in‑house Revit and sustainability teams
  • Contributing to low‑carbon and energy efficiency design strategies
  • Supporting junior team members

What we’re looking for

Degree‑qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, with 3–6 years’ consultancy experience. Solid grounding in residential design — particularly high‑rise buildings — is important, as is familiarity with BSR and HRB regulations. Commercial private sector experience is a plus. Confident using Amtech or similar electrical calculation tools. Working towards IEng registration is encouraged and supported.

What you get

  • 4‑day working week
  • Hybrid working with flexibility around office days
  • Defined career progression — we promote from within
  • Liverpool or Manchester base, your choice
  • Work on technically interesting, varied projects without the overhead of a large corporate practice
