Job Overview

As a Section Engineer, you will plan, provide engineering control, and supervise site operations for a defined section of works within a highly regulated nuclear infrastructure environment. You’ll act as the technical lead on site, supporting the Sub-Agent to ensure works are executed correctly, efficiently, and safely. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a major infrastructure project while making a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and implementing drawings, specifications, and design requirements on site.
  • Supervising site operations and coordinating engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Assisting with short‑term planning, programme updates, and progress tracking to keep the project on schedule.
  • Producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements, and delivering safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Maintaining as‑built records and quality documentation to meet stringent quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
  • Have relevant experience in civil engineering, including site engineering and setting out in infrastructure, highways, heavy civils, or structures.
  • Possess strong knowledge of construction methods, temporary works, and quality systems.
  • Have strong IT skills, confident using MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Be working towards professional membership such as ICE or CIOB.
  • Hold a CSCS card.
