The School of Civil, Aerospace and Design Engineering at the University of Bristol seeks to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer who can complement our research and educational portfolio in Aerospace Engineering. The School is renowned for delivering both high quality teaching and world-class research, attracting the highest calibre of students and providing an intellectually stimulating environment for academic staff. Your teaching will be on the Aerospace BEng, MEng and MSc degrees, centred around practical activities for first and second year undergraduates related to electronics and aircraft design / aircraft systems.
Your research will align with the Bristol Aerospace Research Centre, a group of around 40 academics combining cutting‑edge fundamental science with strong industrial and international links for exploitation and technology transfer. The centre’s areas of interest include aeroacoustics, aerodynamics, aeroelasticity, aerial robotics, computational fluid dynamics, flight dynamics and control, space engineering, systems, fluid mechanics, turbulence, vibration suppression. Applications include fixed‑wing, rotorcraft, UAVs, spacecraft, renewable energy.

What will you be doing?
- Devising and delivering teaching in electronics and aircraft design / aircraft systems.
- Conducting world leading research within the Bristol Aerospace Research Centre.
- Applying for funding and supervising research students.
- Presenting your research at international conferences and publishing high quality peer‑reviewed journal papers.
- Building research collaborations, including with industry.
- Supporting students through our tutorial system and supervising student projects.
- Contributing to academic administration within the School and Faculty.
