Overview
The Trainee Engineer role will support the Electronic Medical Equipment (EME) team by performing electrical safety testing (EST) and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) for medical devices in the NHS. The role requires a grounding in electrical and electronic systems and will provide full manufacturer training so that the trainee can work independently under the direction of the Deputy Head of Medical Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical safety testing (EST) for a range of medical devices.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) under guidance.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing to help the EME department meet its compliance and KPI targets.
- Support the repair, maintenance and service of medical equipment across healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Background in electronic engineering or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Enthusiastic, flexible and willing to learn.
- Basic skills and education that enable growth in the role.
- Willingness to undertake full manufacturer training and work independently.
