What You’ll Do

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a structured development programme aimed at achieving a National Vocational Qualification as part of an apprenticeship.
  • Take an active role in personal development by following a plan agreed upon with the line manager and training provider assessor.
  • Undertake assigned tasks within the Diesel Injection Environment to develop hands‑on skills and knowledge in diesel products, including assessment, testing, and assembly.
  • Component Assessment: Evaluate the overall condition of diesel units; dismantle units in accordance with Carwood’s work instructions; clean components following Carwood’s specified procedures.
  • Clean Room Duties: Receive and inspect individual components to verify their suitability for use; complete the Job Card, noting any additional Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements; assemble injectors and pumps in line with manufacturer specifications; adhere strictly to clean room protocols at all times.
  • Testing: Test injectors and pumps to original equipment (OE) specifications; report any faults to the Production Manager for further direction.
  • General Responsibilities: Consistently produce high-quality work while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness; utilising appropriate tools and equipment to perform duties to the highest standard; work toward and achieve personal performance targets as agreed with the line manager; maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies; perform any additional tasks or duties as directed by senior management.

Training Outcome

Upon completion of your apprenticeship: a view to permanent employment; progression to HNC.
