Responsibilities
- Carry out day‑to‑day development of designs throughout the design process.
- Prepare design documentation and develop designs to satisfy technical specifications.
- Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate designs.
- Contribute to design reviews and prepare technical specifications.
- Prepare risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines in the project design team.
- Manage and provide guidance to Graduates, Apprentices and Designers as required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
- Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
- Knowledge and understanding of Structural Steel connections and connection types.
- Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and be a strong team player.
- Desirable: experience in Nuclear or other highly regulated industrial environments.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
- Experience of supervision.
