# Lead AI Engineer / Head of Applied AITake responsibility for turning EvaEsi’s final model development into launched, evaluated, supportable product behaviour.All open rolesApplyAbout the role## What this role does.EvaEsi is a whole new model line, built on the research from Forlais. It is a significant launch, and you can help shape it.This role takes responsibility for the full path a model takes to production: evaluation and release criteria, inference contracts between models and product surfaces, tool and harness behaviour in production, and the capability standards that govern what the product claims and what it declines. You will build and lead the engineers who work beside you, acting as the senior technical voice on model capability across the company.What we look for## Qualifications.* Significant applied AI or machine learning engineering background with substantial production responsibility.* Able to be the senior technical voice on what a model can and cannot do.* Comfortable with original architecture and a learning curve rather than the standard playbook.* Bring an open mind and genuine readiness for a learning curve.* Are results oriented and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes.* Are willing to adapt and try new ideas.Bonus## Nice to have.* Evaluation systems, benchmarks and release gating for production models.* Model serving infrastructure, inference optimisation or high-performance distributed systems.* Tool use, agent harnesses or long-running AI workflows in production.* Rust, Leptos, observability or production AI workload analysis.Process## How the process runs.Each application is reviewed directly.
