Overview
Airco is looking to recruit an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Engineer, with a positive and pro‑active approach to ensure effective service delivery to our clients. We work for a prestigious customer base in a wide range of sectors including pharmaceuticals, petrochemical, telecoms, education, IT, retail, healthcare and local authorities. What Will You Do
- Install a range of air conditioning & refrigeration equipment including split systems, multi‑split systems and VRV/VRF systems within clients’ premises.
- Diagnose, identify faults and failures with equipment and systems, providing effective solutions.
- Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate and control all documents associated with reactive & planned preventative maintenance works.
- Liaise closely with the client (Domestic & Commercial) to maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.
- Work in a safe and controlled manner following all necessary internal health & safety processes and client‑specific site requirements.
- Take part in the on‑call rota to support the business achieve its 24/7/365 response.
- Meet & maintain high quality standards.
- Communicate with the necessary stakeholders when required.
- Complete any and all necessary paperwork.
- Review RAMS produced and ensure you manage and maintain any risk, controls in the working environment to maintain colleague and public safety.
- Conduct onsite risk assessments before completing any work.
- Raise project concerns with project manager.
Who Are We Looking For
- A highly experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning engineer with a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification, F‑Gas/EN 378 compliant.
- Experience with VRV’s, Coldrooms, Close Control, and Chilled water systems.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- High level of interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients.
- Good electrical competence, including the ability to read wiring schematics and test control circuits.
- “Can do” attitude, enjoys working to deadlines, is focused, passionate about work, and can work under pressure when needed.
- Willing to work away from home if required, flexible with working hours and patterns; night work may be required occasionally.
- Full driving licence.
- Must be able to achieve a DBS certificate.
