About the Role
We are looking for a Fleet Strategy and Operations Manager to shape the future of our fleet operations. Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Partnerships, you will lead the development and delivery of a fleet strategy that ensures our vehicles, suppliers, systems, and processes are safe, compliant, cost‑effective, and fit for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction across fleet governance, Operator Licence compliance, fleet investment planning, supplier management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Balance operational needs with long‑term strategic priorities, driving continuous improvement and value for money.
- Lead the transition to a more sustainable fleet, including the adoption of electric vehicles and lower‑emission transport solutions.
- Oversee fleet lifecycle management, capital investment programmes, supplier performance and compliance.
- Maintain protection from regulatory, financial and reputational risk.
About You
- Experienced and commercially minded fleet leader with a strong track record of strategic fleet management, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
- Significant experience in fleet strategy, vehicle specification, lifecycle planning, and fleet performance management.
- Sound understanding of Operator Licence requirements and related legislation.
- Willingness to obtain a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Goods National, or already hold one.
- Experience managing fleet investment programmes, developing business cases, and making evidence‑based decisions that optimise cost, performance and operational effectiveness.
- Confidence working with senior leaders, suppliers, and external stakeholders, translating complex operational, commercial and compliance matters into clear strategic recommendations.
- Strong commercial acumen, financial awareness, and supplier management experience to drive value through effective partnerships and sound decision‑making.
- Collaborative, forward‑thinking leadership style, embracing innovation, championing high standards, and passion for building a modern, sustainable, efficient fleet operation.
- Integrity, results focus, and the ability to influence positive change and deliver lasting impact.
- Will be required to undergo DBS check prior to employment.
