Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised Examinations Officer to join our team at Southampton College. This is a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and compliance of our examination processes, supporting both staff and students throughout the entire examination cycle.

Duties

  • To be responsible for the full cycle of exam administration, including entries, results processing and ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
  • To coordinate all exam logistics, including rooming, invigilator deployment, seating plans and required resources
  • To support the implementation of access arrangements and reasonable adjustments in line with student needs
  • To deliver a high standard of customer service to students, parents, curriculum teams and awarding bodies
  • To maintain accurate, compliant and up to date examination and qualification records
  • To work collaboratively with Enrolment Officers to identify and resolve data issues highlighted through quality reports

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in examinations administration, exams officer duties or an equivalent education‑based administrative role
  • Experience using ProSolution or a similar Management Information System (MIS)
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Flexible approach to working hours, particularly during GCSE examination periods
  • Knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination compliance procedures (desirable)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and solutions‑focused mindset

Qualifications

  • Minimum GCSE grade 4/C in English & Maths or equivalent
  • A Level passes or equivalent desirable
