Job Description:

The Social Care Training and Development Team plays a vital role in supporting the development of a skilled, knowledgeable and confident social care workforce across Cardiff. Working in partnership with Adult Services, Children’s Services, Social Care Wales, health colleagues, higher education providers and independent and third‑sector organisations, the team delivers learning and development opportunities that support high‑quality practice and positive outcomes for children, adults, families and carers.

The team is responsible for coordinating and delivering a comprehensive workforce development programme, ensuring that staff across the social care sector have access to the training, qualifications and continuous professional development opportunities required to meet statutory, regulatory and professional standards. Through collaboration, innovation and partnership working, the team helps to build workforce capacity, promote best practice and support the ongoing implementation of the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act.

About the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all staff across Social Care Partner Organisations involved in duties delivered under the Social Services & Wellbeing (Wales) Act have the knowledge, skills and competencies to operate under the legal framework.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will need to:

  • Possess a professional qualification aligned to the post.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of successful partnership working and supporting the delivery of training across partner organisations.
  • Be experienced in Social Services training.
  • Have experience of working within RISCA legislation and the SSWB Act.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent IT skills.
  • Have a good understanding of public sector policy and performance frameworks relating to services for children and adults in need of care and support.
  • Hold a full valid driving licence and have the use of a car for work.

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.

This post is part-time, 15 hours per week and permanent.
