At Mitie, we are eager to bring passionate security enthusiasts on board for our new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This role offers the chance to be part of a professional and dedicated team that makes a difference in communities across the United Kingdom.

Job Overview

• Flexibility to travel: cover various DWP sites in the North London region and within a 20-mile radius from the advised vacancy location.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors with security-related matters.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.

Security and Health & Safety

• Identify and immediately report any health & safety hazards on site.
• Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct during difficult situations and with challenging customers.
• Record accurate and detailed notebook entries promptly after any incident for the Incident Report process.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Call emergency services and communication centre to report all incidents.

• Previous security experience.
• DS licence required.
