Security Officer – Chepstow

Shift pattern: Saturdays and Sundays 07:00–19:00.

Location: Chepstow.

Pay: £13.72 per hour.

Start date: ASAP.

Key Purpose of the Job

The primary purpose of the Security Officer is to support the contract, protect client’s premises, assets and personnel by maintaining a safe and secure environment in accordance with the Assignment instructions. This may involve monitoring and controlling access, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to security incidents or emergencies while maintaining a high‑quality service.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they feel welcome and are directed to the appropriate area.
  • Take a personal interest in resolving any client concerns or complaints.
  • Provide a high level of customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, visitors and contractors.
  • Work to the assignment instructions, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents and in line with both the client’s and the company’s quality procedures.
  • Comply with and report on all health and safety issues in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internally and externally, to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and review footage as necessary.
  • Make the required check calls and book on/off calls.
  • Control access to the premises, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed entry.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and incidents, ensuring the situation is handled appropriately and reported accurately.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents and irregularities.
  • Collaborate with emergency services when required.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Ensure that equipment issued to the contract is maintained and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
  • Be correctly dressed in full uniform as required by the client and communicate any shortfall in issue to the appropriate line manager.
  • Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of Kings Security, adopting a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients.

Essential Requirements

  • SIA Licence or valid SIA training certificate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility, willingness to work various shift patterns in line with operational needs.
  • Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure, especially during emergencies.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

Desirable Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, though we are open to candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of security protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the use of surveillance systems and other security equipment.
  • Previous experience in the security industry.
