Security Officer – Chepstow
Shift pattern: Saturdays and Sundays 07:00–19:00.
Location: Chepstow.
Pay: £13.72 per hour.
Start date: ASAP.
Key Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of the Security Officer is to support the contract, protect client’s premises, assets and personnel by maintaining a safe and secure environment in accordance with the Assignment instructions. This may involve monitoring and controlling access, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to security incidents or emergencies while maintaining a high‑quality service.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they feel welcome and are directed to the appropriate area.
- Take a personal interest in resolving any client concerns or complaints.
- Provide a high level of customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, visitors and contractors.
- Work to the assignment instructions, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents and in line with both the client’s and the company’s quality procedures.
- Comply with and report on all health and safety issues in accordance with company guidelines.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internally and externally, to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and review footage as necessary.
- Make the required check calls and book on/off calls.
- Control access to the premises, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed entry.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and incidents, ensuring the situation is handled appropriately and reported accurately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents and irregularities.
- Collaborate with emergency services when required.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Ensure that equipment issued to the contract is maintained and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
- Be correctly dressed in full uniform as required by the client and communicate any shortfall in issue to the appropriate line manager.

Essential Requirements
- SIA Licence or valid SIA training certificate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility, willingness to work various shift patterns in line with operational needs.
- Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure, especially during emergencies.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Desirable Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, though we are open to candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of security protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with the use of surveillance systems and other security equipment.
- Previous experience in the security industry.
