Job Description:

Role Outline

Provide leadership for the Quality and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Functions at the Norwich Site. Manage Q‑EHS Engineers daily and provide indirect leadership and functional ownership across all employees, including manufacturing, service, and engineering.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and enforce policies and procedures related to Quality and EHS, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.
  • Own and manage the integrated management system for site accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Accountable for external customer quality, measured as DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million) for all manufactured products, and use the FBS Toolset to drive improvements.
  • Investigate, resolve, and close all Non‑Conformances (NCRs), including root‑cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Train and facilitate team members to follow defined processes and maintain ongoing adherence.
  • Conduct performance management, including appraisals, monthly 1‑on‑1s, disciplinary investigations, and hearings.
  • Develop the team through coaching, mentoring, external training, and career band status recommendations.
  • Use the Daily Management process to monitor team performance and drive improvement.

Additional Information

  • Spend time attending required meetings, 1‑on‑1s, and appraisals as part of the management role.
  • Lead continuous improvement events such as Kaizens and other improvement initiatives communicated by management.
  • Lead Daily Management meetings to report results, problem‑solve, and manage business expectations.
  • Develop own and team FBS knowledge to implement improvements in assigned areas.

Management Role

  • Provide immediate supervision to Q‑EHS Engineers/Technicians.
  • Act as an influential leader for the Q‑EHS function on site without direct authority over all staff.
  • Resolve team conflicts using company procedures and personal judgement.
  • Coach subordinate managers to ensure consistent communication across the site team.

Position Scope

  • Receive work assignments subject to control and review.
  • Direct subordinates to complete tasks following guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Hold others accountable for deliverables relevant to KPIs.
  • Interact daily with subordinates, peer groups, site management, HR teams for recruitment, and global teams for critical issue escalation.
