Technical Manager (LX Bias), permanent, full time (40 hours per week averaged over a 17 week period), £41,018.00 per annum, plus staff benefits
Lowry is a visual and performing arts venue situated at the heart of MediaCityUK in Salford, one of the world’s most exciting culture and media destinations.
We are looking for a Technical Manager with an LX bias to facilitate the theatres operation to support the artistic ambition of the organisation. The role involves supervising and carrying out all duties associated with getting in, fitting up, running and getting out of productions/events taking place in the theatre spaces and assisting in events in other spaces and locations. This role also provides technical support to other areas of the business as required.
The ideal candidate will have held the position of Chief Electrician or similar role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in either a producing or receiving theatre, and have experience working in a customer-fac
ting environment. They should possess strong skills in all theatrical disciplines including sound, audio-visual, flying, rigging, staging, and a knowledge of theatre principles and processes. The candidate must be a team player with excellent communication skills, experience of supervising others and an ability to delegate. The role requires excellent administrative and organisational skills and flexibility to meet the needs of the department.
This role is 40 hours per week (averaged over a 17-week reference period). Working on a flexible rota pattern, which includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings, is required.
