I’m working with a well-established consultancy looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to support the delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects across the UK. This is an opportunity to join a growing commercial team working on high-profile programmes from construction through to delivery, providing commercial leadership and ensuring projects are delivered successfully under NEC contracts.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of complex projects, working closely with clients, contractors and project teams to protect commercial outcomes while supporting programme delivery

Key responsibilities include

  • Administering contracts under NEC3/NEC4 (FIDIC experience would also be beneficial)
  • Managing compensation events, change control, variations and claims
  • Preparing applications for payment, valuations and commercial reports
  • Supporting cost forecasting, risk management and financial reporting
  • Providing commercial advice throughout project delivery
  • Managing contractual communications and ensuring compliance with contract requirements
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders
  • Supporting negotiations and agreement of final accounts

About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • Around 5-10 years’ commercial management or quantity surveying experience
  • Experience delivering major infrastructure, utilities, energy, power, renewables or civil engineering projects during the construction phase
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, with practical contract administration experience
  • Experience managing change, compensation events and commercial reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working within a consultancy, client-side or contractor environment
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
