We are looking for a Rehabilitation Specialist to help us build a healthier nation at our Derby Hospital. The role will deliver Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes, utilising the unique Nuffield Health pathway and championing the charitable purpose. You will undertake remote (digital) and in‑person facilitation of exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating, and goal setting to aid participants’ recovery.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and run a series of rolling 12‑week rehabilitation programmes.
- Facilitate and deliver live‑stream and in‑person group exercise classes to people with varying degrees of ability and physical function.
- Promote self‑directed activity using pre‑recorded on‑demand classes and a journal to help participants self‑manage their condition after the 12‑week programme.
- Re‑calibrate exercises and intensities based on regular improvements.
- Identify any deterioration of participants and, if necessary, follow internal escalation processes, ensuring reporting within the required timeframe and accurate outcome data capture.
- Engage in weekly 1‑to‑1 telephone conversations with every participant to offer coaching on short‑term and long‑term goals, restrictions, progress monitoring, emotional wellbeing support, and empowerment for self‑directed activity.
Qualifications and skills
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (essential).
- Preferred: BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation.
- Previous experience as a Rehabilitation Specialist.
- Problem‑solving, diagnostic, organisational and decision‑making skills.
- Time and resource management.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Strong English language and numeracy skills.
