About the Role

The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of investments focused on improving maternal health, particularly in the areas of:

  • Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
  • Maternal morbidity
  • Drug and product development
  • Clinical research
  • Global health innovation

The role involves collaborating with researchers, governments, universities, healthcare partners, and international organizations to advance promising interventions from research through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Program Officer will:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of grants and research investments.
  • Develop investment strategies for maternal health innovations.
  • Provide scientific leadership in pregnancy‑related health conditions.
  • Work closely with grantees and research partners.
  • Oversee research quality, ethics, and scientific rigor.
  • Support budgeting, monitoring, and portfolio management.
  • Translate research findings into policy and implementation strategies.
  • Represent the Foundation at scientific meetings and international forums.
  • Collaborate with governments, industry, and global partners to scale impactful solutions.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • An advanced degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, OB/GYN, or equivalent).
  • Expertise in obstetrics, maternal‑fetal medicine, endocrinology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in maternal health research or clinical practice.
  • Strong knowledge of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and/or gestational diabetes.
  • Experience in drug development, clinical research, or grant management.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and research ethics.
  • Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills.
  • Experience working with global or low‑and‑middle‑income country health programs is highly desirable.
