Role Purpose

You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop and managing the shop team effectively. The day‑to‑day role is to assist the Shop Manager and team with the smooth running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained, accepting and paying out bets, and delivering excellent customer service. The role includes opening and closing the business and managing the shop operations in the Shop Manager’s absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Shop Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
  • In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead the operation and running of the shop, including: opening and closing the shop, managing and guiding the shop team, and overseeing cash management procedures.
  • Manage and utilize the company Time and Attendance system, ensuring adherence from the shop team.
  • Lead by example, driving the team to maintain shop presentation standards.
  • Encourage colleagues to share ideas for improvement and better service.
  • Stay focused on shop results, identifying opportunities and motivating the team to high standards.
  • Provide outstanding customer experience, educating the team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Accurately take and process customer bets through multiple channels, including betting terminals and the EPOS system.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey.
  • Ensure the shop adheres to all operational procedures, including cash management and security.
  • Adhere to Social Responsibility duties.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience.
  • Industry experience welcomed but not essential; full training provided to expand knowledge in sport and betting.
