Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and review standard works documentation for safe working procedures with respect to activities completed by the maintenance department and wider process group.
- Drive safe work systems and documented safe procedures for storage of hazardous substances including an annual review.
- Represent, review & update key metrics and performance indicators with respect to Built in Safety (BIS) strategies including the planning of associated audits.
- Provide technical assistance and apply knowledge on safety and regulatory compliance for the maintenance department and wider process group.
- Act as the key liaison with company insurers with respect to assets owned by the maintenance department and wider process group including the co‑ordination of corrective actions.
- Assist and consult on planning of projects and major activities such as shutdown periods with respect to the maintenance department and other key site projects.
Qualifications / Experience
- Knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and recommended best practice.
- Experience in coordination of activities and actions leading to completion of improvements solidifying key performance indicators.
- Experience working with insurance companies and other external parties with respect to maintaining compliance.
- Consultation on projects and action delivery for process, manufacturing or facilities improvements.
- Skills in interrogation of data systems to obtain and develop repeatable reports displaying key performance data.
- Experience creating process instructions/standard work and risk assessments.
- Experience with COSHH assessments and best practices of use and storage of hazardous substances.
- Experience working within a team environment delivering complex projects.
Additional Desired Experience
- HNC or equivalent experience preferable, ideally a time‑served apprenticeship. Can also be working towards this standard.
- Experience in different forms of engineering & manufacturing practices.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Experience of contractor management and permitting.
- Experience in working to relevant statutory regulations and recommended best practice.
- Project management experience and relevant qualifications.
- Relevant experience qualifications or training for DSEAR/COMPEX installations.
- Experience with management of confined spaces & working at height.
