Job Overview

Equans is looking for a CCTV Control Room Operator to join our team at the National Operations Centre, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire (ST4 1AY) on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This is a full‑time role, 42 hours per week, with an annual salary of £29,455.58 and benefits package.

Shift Pattern

24/7 shift pattern – 4 days 0700‑1900, 4 days off, 4 nights 1900‑0700, 4 days off.

Responsibilities

• Perform a key role in all aspects of the National Operations Centre, managing site alarm activations, including CCTV verification and facilitate appropriate escalation.• Respond appropriately to requests through the Facilities Management Helpdesk and QSE Incident Reporting Hotline.

Who we’re looking for

  • Previous experience within a Control Room, Service Desk or other high call volume environment or experience of working within a customer‑focused environment.
  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C and above.
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT, experience with Microsoft Office 365 package including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel & Word.
  • Experience of contributing to incident management / command and control operations.
  • Previous security or service desk experience and experience/training in fire safety and first aid.
  • Previous CCTV & access control knowledge and an understanding of CCTV operations and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, high standards of written and spoken English, ability to maintain accurate incident logs and gather evidential information.
  • SIA licensed for Public Space Surveillance (PSS CCTV operations) or willingness to be trained to achieve SIA licence requirements.
