Carer/Support Worker/Client Recruitment

Pay
- £15.00 per hour – Weekday day shifts (Monday–Friday)
- £16.00 per hour – Weekends & bank holidays (day shifts)
- Sleeping night shifts will be paid at NLW
Hours
38 hours per week (approx. 39.5 hours including 1 Saturday per month)
Hours may be shared between more than one Support Worker. Flexibility is required, particularly on Fridays, weekends, and in line with Bobby and his family’s plans. Bank hours are also available to cover absences of the current team.
- Monday – 6 hours (typically 12:00–18:00, may vary to 10:00–16:00)
- Tuesday – 8 hours (08:30–16:30)
- Thursday – 6 hours (17:00–23:00 or 18:00–00:00)
- Friday – 12 hours (split shift: 6 hours day & 6 hours evening, e.g. 10:00–22:00 or 11:00–23:00)
- Sunday – 6 hours
- Saturday – 6 hours (1 per month)

Job Summary
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers who are passionate about making a positive difference in Bobby’s life. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young adult to live independently and happy.
Bobby was born in 1998 and currently lives with his mother and his father in the family home. Bobby requires 24‑hour support and as such is very dependent on his mother and father. He has a passion for music and “loves” his iPad, music technology, books and games that illicit sound.

- Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)
- Autism
- Mild cerebral palsy
- Moderate learning disability
What Bobby May Require
- Support with mobility in unfamiliar environments due to visual impairment
- Encouragement to use his cane consistently
- Close supervision in busy or unfamiliar environments
Communication Challenges
- Use technical or unexpected language
- Experience delayed processing
- Occasionally find it difficult to respond appropriately to yes/no questions
Responsibilities
- Assisting Bobby to participate in, enjoy, and achieve success in a range of activities/leisure pursuits out in their local community, and at home. To work with him following specific direction, providing guidance as required, and being able to use own initiative in order to ensure that Bobby has suitable one-to-one support.
- To assist with and encourage increased independence in accessing activities and completing personal care and daily living activity as advised by parents/therapists/case manager. (Bobby is able to manage most personal care activities independently but may require some assistance with some tasks).
- To support Bobby in maximising his independence in all activities of daily living
- To enable and promote him in pursuing social outings
- To provide companionship
- To assist with any personal care required

Qualifications & Skills
- Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
- Experience of working with children/adults with special needs.
- Confident and comfortable working in a family home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of Bobby and his family.
- Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting Bobby’s needs
- Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
- A team player who understands the importance of feedback to qualified members of the team

- A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) – and willing to drive the clients adapted vehicle.
