The Difference You Will Make
You will act as an initial point of reference on the phone or in a reception area, undertaking a range of tasks contributing to the safety and security of the building. You will implement night security systems, ensure overall safety and respond to faults as they are discovered, monitor CCTV and visitor access, and report incidents and anti‑social behaviour.

- Experience of working in a customer‑focused environment
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and willingness to learn specific IT systems used within Riverside; completion of relevant IT training where required

Role Profile & Responsibilities
- Operate night security systems, fire alarm system and telephone system to ensure safety.
- Respond to alerts, faults and report as appropriate.
- Monitor CCTV and report any security issues.
- Monitor visitor access and enforce safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with visitors and customers to ensure compliance.
- Respond and report incidents, including anti‑social behaviour, following procedure.
- Advising customers on safety during the night.
- Assist in risk management, health & safety risk reviews and checks.
- Report signs or risks promptly to management.
- Clean rooms and communal areas as required.
- Complete property checks and report repairs or maintenance.
- Provide customer service for tenancy enquiries, post distribution and rent payments.
- Accurately record logs, reports, and information.
Other Duties
- Work to a rota on a night shift basis.
- Travel to different properties within a defined area as required.
- Use the Lone Worker system as required by policy.
- Conduct duties within Riverside’s Policy and Procedure framework.
- Respond to health, wellbeing, safety and safeguarding concerns.
- Role model Riverside Way and support culture delivery.
- Adhere to equality and diversity policies.
- Attend team meetings, supervisions and reflective practice sessions.
- Undertake regular training and continuous development.
- Keep up to date with policies, procedures and information via SharePoint, emails or other communications.

Person Specification
Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Understanding of barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customers, including complex needs.
- Experience and ability to lone work at night.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Capability to clean rooms and communal areas.
- Positive communication, empathetic, calm, flexible, resilient attitude.
- Organisation and time‑management skills in tense situations.
- Willingness to undertake required training.
- Initiative and confidence to make decisions and follow through.
- Basic administrative and IT skills, attention to detail for records and systems.
Desirable
- Experience with vulnerable and diverse customer groups or individuals with complex needs.
- Lived experience of homelessness, mental health issues or substance misuse.
- Previous CCTV usage and building safety experience.
