Location: Cambridge.

Hours: 36 hours per week.

Pay: £14.50 per hour.

We are seeking a reliable and professional Relief Security Officer to provide high‑quality security services across a range of sites. This role involves protecting employees, property, and assets in line with site‑specific requirements and Assignment Instructions, while consistently delivering excellent customer service. The successful candidate will embody core values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness at all times.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site.
• Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
• Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors while ensuring safeguarding of the premises.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence.
• Valid driving licence.
• Great customer skills.
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5‑year checkable history.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
