Location: Barnett Hill Hotel, Blackheath Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU5 0RF

Salary: £24,784.76 per annum + monthly service charge payment

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible shift patterns)

The Role

• Serving food and beverage to residents, conference and event guests as well as local visitors
• Delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner service 7 days per week
• Preparing the restaurant for service
• Meeting and greeting guests
• Taking guest orders
• Serving food and beverage including alcoholic beverages
• Completing satisfaction checks
• Resolving any service issues
• Presenting bills to guests and taking payment
• Resetting the restaurant at the end of the shift for the next service
• Ensuring work area is clean and tidy before departing

Requirements

• Must have transport due to the hotel’s semi‑rural location
• Must have a smart appearance
• Excellent communication skills
• A passion for guest service and experience within a quality food service hotel/restaurant required
• Ability to work flexible shifts (5 days, 37.5 hrs per week including weekends). Shift patterns include 6.30am to 1.00pm, 7am – 2.30pm and 3.30pm to 11pm

Barnett Hill Hotel is a 4‑Star AA Country House Hotel located just outside Guildford, Surrey. The 1905‑built Queen Anne style property sits within 26 acres of gardens and woodland. The hotel offers 56 boutique rooms, suites and residences, several dining venues including the Oak Room restaurant, 1905 Bar, Library and private dining rooms.

For wedding, corporate and event guests we offer private wedding and conference suites. Relaxation can be enjoyed in the Utopia treatment rooms.
