Job Description Specialist Pharmacy or Science Manufacturing Technician – Aseptic Services / Administration (Band 5) n Northampton General Hospital | University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group n Full-Time, Perm or Bank n Start Date: ASAP n About the Role n We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit a Band 5 Specialist Pharmacy or Science Manufacturing Technician to join their Aseptic Services Unit (ASU). n This is a key role within a highly specialised pharmacy service, supporting the preparation and supply of aseptically prepared intravenous medicines, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition. n Key Responsibilities n n n Support the preparation and dispensing of aseptic medicines (patient-specific and batch production) n n Undertake final checking and release of aseptically prepared products (once competent) n n Work within cleanroom and isolator environments, following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) n n Coordinate day-to-day workload within the Aseptic Unit to ensure timely delivery of treatments n n Support cost improvement initiatives, data analysis, and reporting of key performance metrics n n Manage charging processes for external customers and resolve invoice queries n n Contribute to quality systems, audits, and service improvement initiatives n n Support training and supervision of junior staff where required n n This role combines technical aseptic services work with administrative and analytical responsibilities, offering a varied and rewarding position. n Essential Requirements n n n Qualified Pharmacy Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), n n or Science Manufacturing Technician qualification, n n or relevant degree in pharmaceutical science or related field n n Professional registration with GPhC, Science Council or RPS n n Knowledge and experience of aseptic preparation and GMP n n Strong attention to detail and accuracy n n Good communication, organisation, and IT skills n n Desirable n n n Experience in hospital aseptic services n n Experience in final checking and releasing products n n Experience with quality systems, audits, or CAPA processes n n Experience supervising or training staff n n Knowledge of electronic quality management systems (EQMS) n n Why Apply? n n n Work within a specialist aseptic and cancer services environment n n Gain experience in licensed pharmaceutical manufacturing n n Opportunity to develop skills in quality systems, data analysis, and service improvement n n Be part of a supportive multidisciplinary pharmacy team n n Contribute directly to patient safety and treatment delivery n…
