Job Description n Your new company n Our client is a leading, nationally recognised law firm with a top-tier catastrophic loss practice, is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team. The firm acts for a broad panel of Tier 1 insurer clients, handling some of the most complex and high-value personal injury claims in the UK. The team has an excellent reputation for managing catastrophic injury litigation and offers strong career development within a supportive, collaborative environment. You can expect a high level of home working. n You will join a highly experienced catastrophic injury team, supporting Partners and senior lawyers on high-value, complex claims. Matters will include defendant catastrophic injury work across motor, employers’ liability and public liability, typically valued from £100k to £20m+. Your new role n As a Catastrophic Loss Associate, you will be responsible for: n n Assisting on and managing a caseload of complex, high-value injury claims valued from £100k to £20m+. n Handling matters involving serious injuries such as brain injury, spinal injury, amputations and severe psychiatric injury n Drafting pleadings, reports and correspondence n Conducting liability investigations and reviewing evidence n Instructing counsel and experts, including medical experts n Attending hearings and ensuring compliance with court directions and deadlines n Building and maintaining strong client relationships n Supporting and mentoring more junior team members n n What you’ll need to succeed n n Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (ideally 5+ PQE) n Experience handing or assisting on catastrophic injury, large loss or serious injury litigation n Background in EL/PL and/or motor claims (defendant experience preferred, but claimant experience will be considered) n Exposure to high-value claims (exceeding £100k) n Strong technical litigation skills and attention to detail n Ability to manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines n Excellent communication and client-facing skills n Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to case management n n What you’ll get in return n n Opportunity to work on market-leading catastrophic injury work n Clear progression pathway within a recognised national team n Very flexible hybrid working arrangements and a high level of home working. n Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package n Supportive and inclusive working culture n n What you need to do now n If you’re interested in this role, click ‘apply now’ to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV n   n If this job isn’t quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. n Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
