Job Description Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Cancer Services (Band 8a) n Northampton General Hospital | University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group n Full-Time Permanent or Bank n Includes On-Call Commitment n Start Date: ASAP n We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join their Oncology & Haematology team. n This is a highly specialist role delivering a patient-focused clinical pharmacy service across oncology wards, acute assessment units, and outpatient cancer services. n About the Role n As an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, you will: n n n Deliver a specialist clinical pharmacy service to oncology and haematology patients n n Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting safe and effective medicines use n n Participate in ward rounds, medicines optimisation, and patient counselling n n Provide expert advice on systemic anti-cancer therapies and complex treatment pathways n n Lead on guidelines, protocols, and medicines governance n n Support ePMA systems and digital prescribing initiatives n n Contribute to service development, audit, and research activity n n Line manage and support the development of pharmacy staff n n You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of care from admission through to discharge, supporting patients with complex cancer treatments. n Essential Requirements n n n MPharm (or equivalent) n n GPhC registration n n Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (Diploma/MSc or equivalent) n n Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy, including oncology/haematology n n Strong experience working within multidisciplinary teams n n Excellent clinical knowledge, communication, and leadership skills n n Desirable n n n Independent Prescriber qualification n n Experience in oncology pharmacy or cancer services n n Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society / BOPA n n Experience in teaching, audit, and service development n n Leadership or management training n n Why Apply? n n n Join a specialist cancer pharmacy service n n Work within a highly collaborative MDT environment n n Opportunities for advanced clinical practice and prescribing n n Be involved in service innovation, research, and leadership n n Supportive Trust committed to clinical excellence and professional development n…
