Senior Solution Architect | Permanent | Hybrid Working (1 day per month on-site) in Leeds or Newcastle | £85,000 + Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join a large-scale, customer-focused organisation undergoing significant digital transformation.
Working within a collaborative Architecture team, you will act as a key design authority across major business and technology initiatives. You’ll be responsible for shaping end-to-end solutions across a diverse technology estate, including digital platforms, customer engagement systems, content management technologies, transactional systems and modern integration frameworks.
Partnering closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams and technology specialists, you’ll translate complex business requirements into scalable, practical and future-proof architectural solutions that deliver long-term value.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document current-state architecture and define future-state solution landscapes.
- Lead solution option analysis, including buy-versus-build assessments, vendor evaluations and integration strategies.
- Design cost-effective, scalable solutions aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles.
- Identify, assess and mitigate architectural risks, technical debt and duplication across systems.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps across multiple business and digital domains.
- Support architecture governance activities, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practice.
- Collaborate with engineering, product and business teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Present architectural concepts and designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Champion design-led thinking and mentor colleagues where appropriate.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven track record as a Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments.
- Experience working across multiple business systems, digital platforms and customer-facing technologies.
- Strong background in designing integrations between SaaS, legacy and bespoke applications.
- Ability to produce clear architectural artefacts, solution designs and technical documentation.
- Experience influencing technical direction and supporting delivery teams through implementation.
- Strong understanding of data flows and system interactions within large-scale digital ecosystems.
- Ability to balance business priorities, delivery timelines, cost and scalability considerations.
- Experience identifying architectural risks and developing pragmatic mitigation strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong technical foundation, ideally with a background in software development, engineering or application architecture.
- Experience defining architectural patterns, standards and reusable solution components.
