Responsibilities

• Build security capabilities that protect the business day‑to‑day and support a £200m transformation programme.
• Work with technology teams, underwriters, operations leads and senior stakeholders on problems such as distributed data, agentic AI and supply‑chain risk.
• Take the lead on a wide portfolio of projects, managing multiple engagements concurrently and acting as an escalation point for junior team members.
• Aggregate risk views across your portfolio, manage security resources, report status to key stakeholders and provide clear recommendations for action.
• Design, build and implement security solutions that protect the business against sophisticated cyber threats.
• Translate business needs into pragmatic, effective security requirements and solutions.

Qualifications

• Security architecture across cloud environments – Azure, GCP (primarily), and AWS.
• Regulatory frameworks in financial services – FCA, Lloyd’s, NYDFS, and new DORA expertise.
• Experience designing successful security solutions, evaluating, selecting and supporting technology implementation.
• Strong communication skills – board, regulator and operational audiences.
• Ability to embed pragmatic security solutions into business transformation with tangible outcomes.
• Hands‑on experience with scripting or coding for automation‑first thinking.
• Understanding of security implications of large‑scale data science and AI workloads.
