About the Job
The IT Internship is a key entry point for troubleshooting hardware, software, laptops, printers, networks, and peripheral problems. You will provide routine and emergency support to end users on a variety of issues. Responsibilities include identifying, researching, and resolving user issues, documenting, tracking, and monitoring problems to ensure timely resolution. You will recognize and prioritize issues, translate technical terms into non‑technical language, and frequently interact with laptop end‑users, peers, and managers. Independent judgment, a positive attitude, and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities
- Answer staff questions using the JIRA ticketing system on all company‑supported applications and requests.
- Research user questions using available resources and advise users on appropriate courses of action.
- Investigate user problems, identify sources, propose solutions, test, implement, and document resolutions.
- Set up user accounts, configure, and maintain desktops and laptops, network, and network printers.
- Assist with the maintenance of virtual and physical servers, Ethernet networks, cabling, and related equipment.
- Perform software and hardware installations and upgrades.
- Document common issues and fixes for future reference.
- Understand system interdependencies for IT services.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, including PPE usage.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required
- Ability to build rapport with employees and elicit problem details.
- Knowledge of macOS, Windows 10, Windows Server, Microsoft Office, iOS, Android, Active Directory, and JAMF.
- Experience with VoIP.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical personnel.
- Organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.
- Knowledge of computing and networking hardware and peripherals.
- Ability to learn, install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Availability for potential weekend or late‑evening work.
- Self‑sufficient in a moderate‑sized office environment while knowing when to seek guidance.
- AS degree or Microsoft certifications (JAMF, A+), and experience with Microsoft Office.
