Key Responsibilities
- Handles day-to-day support: incident triage and resolution, service requests, routine operational tasks, and monitoring response.
- Delivers routine changes: configuration updates, access adjustments (within policy), job/process updates, minor releases, and documentation updates.
- Supports problem management: gathers evidence, contributes to RCA, and implements agreed fixes.
- Maintains operational documentation and runbooks; keeps knowledge current and usable for others.
- Works with seniors/leads on planned work, learning standards, patterns, and safe ways of working.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Foundation technical capability in a specific application/technology domain; actively builds depth and autonomy.
- Support discipline: follows incident/change processes; good ticket hygiene; knows when and how to elevate.
- Troubleshooting basics: can interpret logs, alerts, and symptoms; uses runbooks effectively; learns from repeat issues.
- Documentation & quality: keeps runbooks, KB articles, and operational checks accurate and clear.
- Reliability mindset: understands operational risk; avoids “cowboy changes”; focuses on stability and repeatability.
- Collaboration: works well with service management, infrastructure, vendors, and business users.
- Improvement contribution: suggests small improvements and helps implement automation or standardised operational tasks.
