Senior Mechanical Application Engineer

Lead Mechanical Solutions for Subsea Projects with a passion for driving Engineering Excellence. The role provides the technical interface between customers, commercial teams, and engineering functions, translating customer requirements into robust, fit‑for‑purpose subsea equipment solutions—supporting tenders, front‑end engineering, and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering input for subsea tenders, studies, and early engagement activities.
  • Interpret client specifications and translate them into compliant, cost‑effective technical solutions.
  • Develop and review mechanical designs, layouts, and technical documentation for subsea systems and components.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product management, manufacturing, sourcing, commercial and project engineering.
  • Provide technical support to commercial teams during bid preparation and client presentations.
  • Ensure solutions meet applicable industry standards (API, ISO), internal design practices, and customer requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
  • Support risk assessments, design reviews, and lessons learned activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design or application engineering within the subsea oil & gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of Subsea Production Systems, with detailed knowledge of Subsea Christmas Trees, Tubing Hangers and their associated tooling.
  • Proficiency in the use of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MathCAD, Teamcenter).
  • Experience with requirement management and interface management, and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., DOORS, SmartPDF).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
