As a Data Analyst Officer, you will provide high-quality analysis, reporting and insight to support the Council’s Transformation Programme. You will work with data from across corporate and service systems to help inform decision-making, service redesign, performance improvement and financial sustainability. You will also play an important role in supporting LGR by providing analytical insight to inform transition planning, service alignment and future operating models.
We are now looking for a Data Analyst Officer to join our Transformation team on a 12-month fixed term basis.
Responsibilities
- Collecting, validating and analysing data from multiple sources to support transformation and service improvement
- Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within complex datasets and translating these into clear, actionable insight
- Producing dashboards, reports and visualisations (for example using Power BI) to support performance monitoring and decision-making
- Supporting programme boards and senior managers with high-quality briefings and analysis
- Contributing to LGR through analysis of service demand, performance and transition planning
- Supporting the development of KPIs and performance measures aligned to corporate priorities
- Working with services to improve data quality, consistency and governance
- Presenting complex information in a clear and accessible way to non-technical audiences
- Working collaboratively with programme managers, service leads and corporate teams
Qualifications
You will be an experienced data analyst or equivalent, with strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into meaningful insight.
- Experience of analysing complex datasets to support decision-making
- Experience of producing dashboards, reports or presentations for a range of audiences
- Strong skills in Excel and data visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Experience of working with multiple data sources and improving data quality
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- An understanding of information governance and data protection requirements
- Ideally, experience of working in a local authority or public sector environment and supporting transformation or programme delivery
It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a ‘customer facing role’ must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.
