Overview

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest providers of Talking Therapies services in the country and is currently looking for a Clinical Team Leader to support the operational leadership of the service, at Step3 (High Intensity). The role operates within a data‑led, place‑based model that brings therapy closer to the local population and supports a broad portfolio of clinical specialisms, including perinatal, trauma and long‑term conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop a high‑quality, responsive and accessible service, advising on psychological and organisational matters.
  • Provide line‑management and caseload supervision to professional staff in a busy, high‑volume clinical environment.
  • Deliver psychological therapies face‑to‑face and online, and support staff in attending hubs and delivery sites, participating in training and service activities.
  • Participate in regular supervision to ensure quality delivery and maintain professional development and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the ongoing programme of development and improvement, including clinical audits, service evaluation and personal performance appraisal.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operational aspects of service delivery, monitor team contributions to organisational objectives, and maintain compliance with key performance indicators.
  • Allocate work to relevant services, monitor team performance and deputise for the Deputy Service Manager as required.
  • Possibly hold a client caseload if trained and accredited in Talking Therapies modalities.
  • Maintain professional governance and leadership within the area, supporting staff visibility with a minimum of three face‑to‑face days on site.

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, accredited by BABCP.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling, accredited by BACP.
  • Nursing degree or equivalent, including Dip OT or Core Profession.
  • ILM certificate in management or equivalent.

Experience & Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health practice from prior experience.
  • Experience providing leadership in a mental‑health care environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to travel independently to support staff across multiple locations.
