About the Role
As a Regional Clinical Development Nurse at Barchester, you will lead, support and continuously improve the clinical governance and quality of care for residents in our care homes throughout Yorkshire. You will support the performance of each home, ensuring it meets the highest clinical standards. By reviewing the clinical governance database and key performance indicators (KPIs) each month, you will analyse results and identify practical strategies to meet regulations and continually improve care. Working closely with the Regional Director, improvement specialists and senior clinical staff in each home, you will support the continual improvement of standards and help implement key actions to address any issues. You will organise new training, attract key senior clinical staff and deliver clinical investigations. The role requires regular travel across the region.
About You
You must be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current National Registration Board (NRC) registration. You must provide evidence of continued professional development and have a strong understanding of current regulatory requirements. Experience working in a care home environment and confidence as a clinical mentor—particularly with newly-qualified nurses—is required. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, knowledge sharing, relationship building and the ability to deliver action plans effectively are essential.
