This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor looking to move away from a predominantly hands‑on role into a position with greater ownership, responsibility and influence.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Senior Leadership Team, the Maintenance Compliance Engineer will play a vital role in maintaining engineering compliance, supporting operational excellence and helping to drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing site. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering genuine opportunities to develop your career within a forward‑thinking business.

The Opportunity

  • Leading engineering compliance activities to ensure the site meets internal standards and external legislative requirements.
  • Driving remedial actions following internal and external audits while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing contractor compliance, approved contractor systems and supporting customer audits.
  • Overseeing critical engineering safety programmes including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Working at Height, Electrical Safety and Workplace Transport.
  • Supporting engineering operations through project involvement, maintenance planning, purchase order management, breakdown support and contributing to future capital investment plans.

Your work will directly contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant and high‑performing manufacturing operation while supporting long‑term business success.

About You

  • Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing maintenance environment, ideally FMCG or food manufacturing, either as a Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
  • Experience managing engineering projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • A strong understanding of engineering compliance, health and safety legislation and manufacturing standards.
  • Knowledge of contractor management and engineering audit processes would be advantageous.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.

The Benefits and Package

  • Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Company pension.
  • A personalised development plan tailored to your career goals.
  • Genuine opportunities for future progression within a growing business.
  • The opportunity to move into a more strategic and leadership focused engineering role.
