Job Description
As a Plumbing and Heating Engineer, you will manage and maintain mechanical plant equipment, support systems and services across our property portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will be actively involved in both planned preventive maintenance and responding to urgent repair needs.
You will perform routine inspections and servicing on equipment such as motors, drives, pumps, pipework, LEV systems, plumbing, heating and refrigeration systems to prevent breakdowns.
Key responsibilities include proactively ensuring safety by conducting thorough risk assessments and developing method statements for all tasks, safeguarding yourself and others.
Manage your workload using the company’s Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Form part of the facilities on‑call team reacting to critical plant and system failures. A full UK driving licence is required.
Qualifications
- Level 3 certificate in a mechanical engineering discipline (Engineering, Plumbing or HVAC) or above.
- CSCS grading/accreditation or equivalent.
- IPAF and PASMA qualifications.
- Good computer skills (MS Office) with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Practical experience with building management systems.
- Experience working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot installations, conduct fault finding, and carry out necessary repairs.
- Flexible, able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

- Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, remedial works and reactive tasks in line with current guidance documents, manufacturer literature and legislation.
- Working safely in accordance with statutory legislation and company policies.
- Providing out of hours support to business‑critical functions and activities.
- Managing contractors and external suppliers in line with company policies and safe systems of work.
- Assisting with the delivery of in‑house project works in line with CAPEX and OPEX requirements.
- Generating and managing critical spare for your discipline.
