Job Description:

As a Maintenance Engineer you will quickly identify, troubleshoot, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime. From utilizing root cause analysis techniques, carrying out preventive maintenance checks to updating maintenance records, you will play a key role in keeping our equipment running smoothly.

What You’ll Do:

  • Quickly diagnose problems with the equipment and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime using root‑cause analysis techniques.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance checks are carried out On Time In Full (OTIF).
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks, in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Manage contractors on site (direct & 3rd party).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in the operation and maintenance of the sorters and conveyors, implementing changes as necessary to enhance performance and reliability.

Sustainability Projects: Be part of impactful initiatives aimed at reducing waste, minimizing landfill contributions through the use of new equipment, and cutting energy costs by optimizing power usage, including the installation of energy‑efficient lighting in the warehouse.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum qualification in electrical, electrical installation or electrical bias at level 3.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer/Field Service Engineer/Installation Engineer, within a logistics, automation, manufacturing, production or sortation environment.
  • Strength in operating autonomously to effectively fault find through root‑cause analysis and implement quick preventive solutions.
  • Knowledge of PLC controls (Siemens or Allen Bradley) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good PC skills (Microsoft office/ BMS/ maintenance engineering software).

Salary:

The salary range for this position is £48,000 – £51,000 per year, however the base salary offered may vary depending on location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
