Our client is a specialist engineering manufacturer supplying bespoke products into demanding industrial markets worldwide. They are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team and play an important role in maintaining and improving quality across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to develop broad experience within manufacturing quality. You’ll gain exposure to every aspect of the quality function, working closely with production, engineering, suppliers and customers.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll be involved in day-to-day quality activities while developing your knowledge and responsibilities over time.
You’ll support inspection activities, investigate quality issues, work with suppliers, contribute to continuous improvement projects and help maintain the Quality Management System.

Responsibilities
- Support the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
- Investigate production and supplier quality issues
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Carry out inspections and dimensional measurements
- Produce and update quality procedures and documentation
- Support internal and external audits
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality concerns
- Review engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Analyse quality data and identify improvement opportunities
- Assist with customer quality enquiries
- Support calibration and inspection equipment records
- Work closely with production to improve manufacturing quality
What We’re Looking For
- 0-3 years’ experience within manufacturing, quality or engineering
- Engineering, manufacturing or quality background
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Practical, hands‑on approach
- Keen to learn and develop
- Organised and proactive
- Comfortable working both on the shop floor and in the office
- Placement year, apprenticeship or graduate experience within manufacturing
- Exposure to ISO 9001
- Experience using measuring equipment such as Verniers or Micrometers
- Understanding of quality tools such as 5 Whys or 8D
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining or industrial manufacturing
- Broad exposure across the full quality function
