Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to the pending 2026/2027 national pay award. The final salary will be adjusted accordingly once this has been agreed.
In this key role, you will act as a trusted HR business partner, providing expert advice and practical support to managers, headteachers and governors across a wide range of workforce matters.
The work is varied, impactful and often complex, covering areas such as employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and policy development.

Key Responsibilities
- Human Resources Advice and Administration: Contracts, absence, appraisals, disciplinaries, grievance, job evaluation, managing change, recruitment and onboarding.
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing: Advice, compliance, risk assessments.
- Learning and Development: E‑learning, events, qualifications panel, training.
- Engagement and Wellbeing: Ceri+, internal communications, recruitment marketing.
- Pay and Benefits: Payroll, pensions, timesheets.
- Systems: Ceri system and development, data and reporting.
Candidate Profile
A confident, credible HR professional with strong employee relations experience. Skilled in handling complex and sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. Able to build effective relationships across services, including schools and trade unions. Solutions‑focused, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities. Committed to continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 10: Level 5 CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) with a commitment to progress to CIPD Level 7 within three years, and around 3+ years of HR experience.
Grade 11: CIPD Level 7 qualified and/or Chartered CIPD membership, with significant HR experience (typically 5+ years) and the ability to operate at a strategic level.
