About the Role: Curriculum Manager SEND

As a CM, you play a pivotal role in driving forward our strategic objectives and ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and learner experience across our Supported Learning curriculum and services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of outstanding educational SEND provision.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across departments to implement innovative and inclusive practices that support learners and colleagues to thrive.
  • Line manage teaching and support staff, driving performance and accountability.
  • Design, plan, and deliver high-quality, learner-focused curriculum programmes (from pre-entry to Level 1).
  • Maintain a solid understanding of compliance, funding regulations, and quality assurance processes.
  • Use data effectively to improve learner attendance, retention, and progression.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective and high-impact delivery.
  • Prepare for and contribute to internal and external audits, inspections (e.g. Ofsted), and quality reviews.

This role involves line management of teaching and support staff, supporting their development and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Contribute to shaping the strategic direction of the college and ensuring its delivery through effective leadership, innovation, and operational oversight.

  • Inspiring and experienced leader with proven success in leading teams or departments within an educational or comparable setting.
  • Deep understanding of curriculum design, quality assurance, and student achievement.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and people management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to build effective partnerships internally and externally.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive and empowering learning environments.
  • Proactive, strategic mindset with commitment to continuous improvement and learner success.
  • Relevant teaching qualification and leadership training (or willingness to obtain these) with experience in SEND.
